What is COVID-19?
COVID-19 is a disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus. 'CO' stands for corona, 'VI' for virus, and 'D' for disease. Formerly, this disease was referred to as '2019 novel coronavirus' or '2019-nCoV'. It started in the country of China which spread rapidly to other countries and now the whole world. The virus causes severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus strain through infection by human contact.
How Dangerous is the Virus?
The virus does not choose its victims to be infected. No one is really immune to COVID-19 due to it being a new virus that has never been seen in humans. The virus affects the respiratory systems of an infected person and although there is already a vaccine, it is still something we should be careful about. COVID-19 harms children and seniors more at the same time because of their vulnerability to it. And because of this, it is very important to follow safety protocols.

What Do I Do if I Believe I Have it?
First check if you are experiencing the following symptoms of the virus, the following are the symptoms to check before checking up:
Most common symptoms:

loss of taste or smell

a rash on skin, or discoloration of fingers or toes
Serious symptoms:

If you are experiencing the listed symptoms above especially the serious symptoms, seek medical attention quickly and isolate self from people that are around you. Contact people you have been with that you believe may be at risk of the virus too, if it is confirmed you are positive try your best to recover quick and overcome the virus through your strength.
Why Do We Need To Follow Safety Protocols?
Safety protocols are created to help lessen the infection and widespread of the virus to more people. This includes wearing a mask, a face shield, bringing alcohol everywhere, optionally wearing gloves, social distancing and lessen human contact. Protocol violators are always present in situations like this and it is highly discouraged to become one of them. Not only does it harm yourself but also those around you with the risk of getting the virus because of carelessness. COVID-19 not only causes sickness but also deaths and large amounts of money for a person to live and recover faster. COVID-19 is already a big problem in the first place and we should all contribute and follow to ease it.
